Mein PicoPix Max steht zu weit weg von der Leinwand, deswegen wollte ich ihm mehr Zoom verpassen – kurz Antwort: Hat leider nicht funktioniert…
Hier mein Versuchsaufbau::
Ich habe es zuerst mit einem einfachen Telekonverter (Raynox Telephoto Lens 1.5x for Video Camcorder Model GH-1000, Innendurchmesser knapp 30mm) versucht und war eigentlich überrascht das diese einfache Linse schon was gebracht hat. Brauchbar ist das Ergebnis nicht wirklich – es ist sehr bauchig und die Ecke sehr unscharf und so knapp an der Kante, dass sie dunkle sind. Der Projektor strahlt nach oben (Unterkante des Projektionsbild ist auf Höhe der Linsen-Unterkante vom Beamer), so dass ich die Linse schräg halten musste (meine Idee war am Ende ein Gewinde am Beamer anzubringen, dass ich die Linse einfach abnehmen kann).
In der Hoffnung mit einem besseren und größeren Telekonverter ein besseres Ergebnis zu erzielen habe ich mir einen Canon 1.4 55mm Telekonverter (Innendurchmesser ca 43mm) besorgt. Auch wenn das Bild beim fotografieren sehr gerade ist, das Ergebnis am Beamer ist unbefriedigend. Zwar ist die Linse viel größer, aber liegt auch weiter innen. Das Bild ist bauchiger, dafür die Ecken etwas schärfer und nicht so stark abgedunkelt.
Nutzbar ist beides nicht. Bleibt der Digitalzoom des Beamers – der bei dem Modell aber leider nicht für den HDMI-Eingang funktioniert, eine größere Leinwand oder kürzerer Abstand – das ist Beides bei mir schwierig…
Abschließend ist noch zu bemerken, dass ich andere Werte der Vergrößerung habe als angegeben – der Raynox vergrößert zu wenig, der Canon zu viel (kann aber auch sein, dass dies daran liegt, dass ich eigentlich einen zu großen Ausschnitt nehmen – ich werde die beiden Telekonverter nochmal so testen, wie sie verwendet werden sollen – wenn das Wetter wieder besser ist):
- Raynox Telephoto Lens 1.5x for ViIdeo Camcorder Model GH-1000: 1,43x
- Canon 1.4 55m: 1,45x

My PicoPix Max is too far away from my screen, so I wanted to give it more zoom – short answer: Unfortunately, it didn’t work…
Here is my experimental setup:
I first tried it with a simple teleconverter (Raynox Telephoto Lens 1.5x for Video Camcorder Model GH-1000, inner diameter just under 30mm) and was actually surprised that this simple lens already brought some results. The outcome is not really useful – it is very belly-shaped and the corner is very blurred and so close to the edge that they are dark.The projector shines upwards (lower edge of the projection image is at the same level as the lower edge of the lens from the beamer), so I had to hold the lens at an angle (my idea was to attach a thread to the beamer at the end so that I could simply take of the lens).
Hoping to get a better result with a better and bigger teleconverter I got a Canon 1.4 55mm teleconverter (inner diameter about 43mm). Even though the picture is very straight when I take photos with it, the result on the beamer is unsatisfying. Although the lens is much larger, it is also further inside. The image is more curved, but the corners are somewhat sharper and not so dimmed.
However, neither is useful. What remains is the digital zoom of the projector – which unfortunately does not work for HDMI input on this model, a larger screen or a shorter distance – both of which are difficult for me…
Finally, it should be noted that I have other values of magnification than specified – the Raynox magnifies too little, the Canon too much (but it may also be that this is because I am actually using a too large section – I will test the two teleconverters again as they should be used on a camera – when the weather is better again):
